Gas station owner tells police masked gunmen robbed him


YOUNGSTOWN — The 54-year-old owner of an East Side gasoline station and convenience store told police two masked gunmen emerged from the woods and robbed him as he was walking from the store to his car at about 12:20 a.m. today. The victim said he told the men, believed to be about 18 years old, that he didn’t have any money, but one of the robbers demanded his wallet. The victim turned over his wallet with $50 and credit cards to the robbers before they fled on foot into the woods. The robbery occurred outside the Speed Check, 1904 Oak St. Police immediately searched the area but were unable to find any suspects.
