YOUNGSTOWN —The 11th annual American Cancer Society Tri-County Golf Classic has been planned for Aug. 10 at Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive.
The title sponsor is the Home Savings and Loan Co., and Marie Scott is honorary chair.
Tom Fleming, president of Aim NationaLease, has been chosen as this year’s honoree.
The cost for a team of four to participate in the upscale four-person scramble is $5,000. Play will be limited to 32 teams, and each team may choose from three flights, depending on the golfer with the lowest index average.
Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with registration and a chipping contest, followed by lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Play will begin at 12:30 with a shotgun start. There will be a longest drive contest during the 18-hole competition, and afterward there will be a dinner and an awards ceremony.
Each golfer will receive an Under Armour pullover, a divot tool, a golf umbrella, a golf towel, a Foot Joy golf glove, a dozen Callaway golf balls, a dozen roses and a bottle of wine.
The event will raise funds for cancer research and to assist cancer patients, and will give golfers a chance to meet and socialize with community leaders. Last year more than $95,000 was raised from the tournament, which, since its inception, has netted more than a $1 million for the American Cancer Society.
For more information or to receive a registration form, call Bridgett Savage at (888) 227-6446, ext. 2205.
