Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens preparing for annual summer party

YOUNGSTOWN — Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens will host its annual summer garden party at 6 p.m. July 31 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek MetroParks.
The event, titled “A Southern Bash,” focuses on the culture of the South Carolina Lowcountry through the exhibit “Grass Roots: African Origins of an American Art” currently on display at the Gardens.
Guests will enjoy libations and music by the Youngstown Jazz Collective in the Davis Center, followed by a southern buffet in the gardens featuring jazz, and delicacies and delectables catered by YSU Catering.
Tickets are $50 and $75 per person (nonreserved seating) and patrons are $125 per person (shared reserved tables). Reserved tables for 10 are available for $1,000. For ticket information and an invitation to the party, call (330) 740-7116.

Proceeds will benefit the new Gardens Master Plan as well as horticulture education and outreach in the community.
