VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Sessions in the area


Lists of vacation Bible schools open to the public will run on the Religion page. Please include the following information: The complete name of the church; address with city or township; time, date and location of sessions; program theme; ages or grades; and whether it’s free or there is a fee. Information should be submitted two weeks before the school’s opening or its reservation deadline. Who: Bristolville United Methodist and North Bristol Christian churches.

What: “Camp E.D.G.E. — Where Kids can Experience & Discover God Everywhere” is the theme.

When: 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Where: Churches set up tent in park at intersection of Routes 45 and 88.

Details: The free program is for participants from preschool through sixth grade and will include dinner and a snack. For information, call Jen Armour, director at (330) 442-1268, or register the first day.

Who: Coalburg United Methodist Church.

What: “Go Fish” is the theme.

When: 9:30 a.m. to noon July 20-24.

Where: Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard.

Details: The program is for 3- to 16-year-olds and will include a worship service at 10 a.m. July 26 followed by a church picnic at Chestnut Ridge Park. Free admission and picnic provided. For information, call Judy Price at (330) 534-2402 or Denise Schindell at (330) 534-5522.

Who: Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.

What: “Rome Bible Times Adventure” is the theme.

When: 9 a.m. to noon July 20-24.

Where: Church, 471 Mathews Road, Boardman.

Details: The free program for children 4 to 13 years old will include games, Bible stories, crafts, music and snacks. Children will learn about Jesus through a visit to Paul in Rome. Registration is suggested by calling the church at (330) 758-5628 and leaving your name and telephone number. A closing program will be at 6:30 p.m. July 24 for family and friends.

Who: First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge.

What: “Crocodile Dock — Where Fearless Kids Shine God’s Light!” is the theme.

When: 9 a.m to noon Monday through Friday.

Where: Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge.

Details: The program is for children 3 years old through sixth grade and will include crafts, games, music, Bible stories and snacks. Call the church office at (330) 652-5712 or register the first day.

Who: Highway Tabernacle.

What: “Studio Go! Game Show” is the theme.

When: 8:45 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

Where: Church, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown.

Details: A regular session will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. July 18 followed by a carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parents must accompany children to the carnival. A closing program will be at 5:45 p.m. July 19. Bussing is available; call (330) 792-3000.

Who: Howland Community Church.

What: “The Great Escape” is the theme.

When: 6 to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Where: Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road S.E., Warrren.

Details: The program for children from 3 years old through fifth grade will include music, snacks, crafts, games, science experiments and Bible study. Registration recommended. Call the church at (330) 856-3628.

Who: North Lima Mennonite Church

What: “Crocodile Dock — Where Fearless Kids Shine God’s Light!” is the theme.

When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 20-24.

Where: Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima.

Details: Songs, skits, crafts, Bible stories, games and snacks will be part of the program for children from 4 years old through ninth grade. To register, call (330) 549-2296.

Who: Trinity Lutheran Church, Emmanuel Lutheran Church of New Springfield, St. John Lutheran Church of Petersburg and Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown.

What: “Discovery Canyon” is the theme of the program.

When: 6 to 8 p.m. July 20-24.

Where: Zion Lutheran Church, 10857 Main St., state Route 170, New Middletown.
