Pa. funeral director’s homicide trial opens Monday
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — Opening statements are scheduled Monday in the trial of a central Pennsylvania funeral director accused of beating and drowning his wife a year ago.
Prosecutors allege that 42-year-old Michael Roseboro killed 45-year-old Jan Roseboro a year ago because he wanted to be with another woman.
Defense attorney Allan Sodomsky says his client sought help and tried to revive his wife after he found her body at the bottom of the pool at their home in Reinholds on July 22.
Roseboro told police his wife was by the pool that evening while he and three of their four children were inside the house. A fourth child was at a friend’s house.
Roseboro’s attorney has suggested that intruders killed the woman.
