“High Noon,” the classic 1952 film starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, is one of those rare ones that is played in real time. The story unwinds in 85 minutes as the clock ticks toward the showdown. Cooper plays a marshall who is about to meet up with a man whom he had sent to prison, and is now bent on revenge. The film also spawned the timeless song, “Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling,” sung by Tex Ritter. Why are we telling you all this? Because “High Noon” is this week’s movie at Yellow Creek Theatre, which is a fancy name for the area behind Poland Library. The free flick begins at 9 p.m. Friday.
