Ralph Stanley, Donna the Buffalo to headline Nelson Ledges festival
GARRETTSVILLE — Three-time Grammy winner Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys and roots act Donna the Buffalo will headline a Sept. 6 music festival at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park.
The National Autism Association’s Northeast Ohio Chapter is sponsoring the event as a benefit. Ralph Stanley is best-known for his performance on the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack.
Also scheduled to perform are Akron-born singer-songwriter Tim Easton, the JiMiller Band, The Jack Fords and Hillbilly Idol. Gates open at 9 a.m. for swimming, hiking and children’s activities, with the music starting at noon.
Tickets are $35 (children under 12 free) and can be purchased at nlqp.com and at the gate.
Overnight camping is included in the price. Families with a special-needs child or adult can get a family ticket for $15; go to autismnortheastohio.org.
Proceeds will fund the families in NAA’s Helping Hand program, which provides financial assistance to Northeast Ohio families raising a child or children with autism.
