Roth rallies in sixth for Game 1 win at Cene Park
STRUTHERS — Roth Brothers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for a 6-4 victory over Astro Falcons in the opening game of the Class Little b championship series Tuesday at Cene Park.
Nick Reinthaler had two hits with his double starting the sixth inning rally.
Rick Jones also had two hits while Adam Robb went the distance for the win, allowing just two earned runs with a pair of strikeouts.
John Beatty had two doubles, a single, with three RBIs, while Ryan Gallagher added two hits for Astro.
Game 2 is today at 7 p.m.
OTN Performance 6, Dave Sugar Excavating 1
Wade Daniels scored the go-ahead run on Collin Bowser’s single in the sixth, and capped a four-run rally in the seventh with a two-run homer as OTN Performance clinched a spot in the Palomino regional tournament in Butler, Pa.
Gary Revale had three hits and two RBIs for OTN, while Robert Franks allowed just three hits and one run in six innings for the win.
Astro 10, Wharmby 6
Shane Wagner had four hits and scored three times, while Ryan Rovnak drove home three runs as Astro clinched a spot in the CABA World Series to be held at Cene Park at the end of the month.
Jared Turocy went the distance for the win for Astro which used a five-run fifth inning.
David Saluga had a triple and a single for Wharmby and Evan Anzio drove home a pair of runs with a double.
