Air Reserve Base Community Council to sponsor golf outing at Knoll Run
VIENNA — Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council will sponsor its first golf outing on July 31 at Knoll Run Golf Course, 1421 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Lowellville.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Richard Alberini Memorial Scholarship Fund, which annually awards two $2,500 scholarships to members of the 910th Air Reserve Base, and will help finance the upcoming Thunder Over the Valley Air Show.
The cost is $75 for each golfer or $300 per team participating in the four-person, 18-hole scramble.
Registration at 7:30 a.m. will be followed by a shotgun start at 9. There will also be a continental breakfast, lunch will be served at the turn, and a strip steak dinner and the awarding of skill prizes will follow. The cost also includes a cart, beverages and gift bags for each player.
Hole-in-one prizes will include $10,000 cash, premium golf equipment, an electronics package, and airline tickets or a cruise for two.
Sponsorships are available, and pickup can be arranged for items donated for prizes.
Golfers can register by mailing checks, payable to the Richard Alberini Memorial Scholarship Fund, to Youngstown State University, Office of Development, One University Plaza, Youngstown, OH 44556.
