New Warren restaurant opens, awaits a name
SPECIAL TO The Vindicator
WARREN — A new restaurant opened, but it doesn’t have a name.
That’s because partners Bob Plizga, J.T. Seesholtz and Rob Dietl are letting patrons choose the name.
“[Seesholtz] always wanted to open his own place and thought it would be great for the public to be involved in the naming,” Dietl said. “I feel that this is a fun way to kick off a great place for all to enjoy and provide a great opportunity for the public to experience a creative, fun experience.”
The three partners of U Name It Venues, LLC opened the restaurant June 26 in the former Bailey’s Pub at 5000 E. Market St.
Currently, a banner proclaiming “Name Our Place Contest” marks the restaurant site.
When patrons order lunch, dinner or drinks, they’re given an entry form to write the name they would choose for the restaurant.
The winner will be announced Aug. 1. The grand prize is worth $1,000. The remaining entries in the contest will be placed in a drawing for other giveaways.
Seesholtz, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, is operating the business. He is serving some of Bailey’s more popular dishes, but is also offering some new items, Dietl said.
“We want to try and get a place where people can go and feel that they’re kind of on a coast, or an island theme, something that has that feel to it,” he said.
With that in mind, Seesholtz will be making foods found in other parts of the country.
The restaurant employs about 15; most are part-time employees.
