Second Harvest Food Bank gets $9,352

YOUNGSTOWN — Second Harvest Food Bank received $9,352 for capital improvements. The donations came from the SJK Charitable Fund and the Kennedy Family Foundation, component funds of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
The SJK Charitable Fund provided $5,352 to purchase pallet jacks for the warehouse, and $4,000 came through the Kennedy Family Foundation for other capital improvements including a system to increase water pressure throughout the facility and a pedestrian door in the repack area of the warehouse.
The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is operated exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes which effectively assist and promote the well being of the residents of Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Information about the foundation can be found at www.cfmv.org.
Second Harvest Food Bank provides food to 155 hunger relief organizations in the tri-county area.
