Judges announce winners of Garden Forum show

YOUNGSTOWN — Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown sponsored a public flower show June 13 and 14 at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.

Judging the show were Rose Marie Roth and Mary Lou Flere, who announced the winners in various categories.

Recipients of blue ribbons in horticulture and their garden clubs are: Wanda Hughes and Norma Brown, Austintown; Roth and Pearl Marlos, Gleaners; Beverly Patrick and Linda Vuletich, Ikebana; Peggy Potts, Johnny Appleseed; Ann Keviecien and Hugh Earnhart, Member at Large; Rex Luckage, Men’s; Martha Murphy, Sheila Bowman and Dianna Mullins, Nature Lovers; and Chris Schley and Rox Anne Macynski, public.

Blue ribbons in design went to the following: Marlos and Joyce Dunbar, Gleaners; Ann Hanka, Lisa Chronister and Katherine Hilmon, East Liverpool/Calcutta; and Bev Italiano, public.

The following were the recipients of national awards; Hilmon, in petite; Earnhart, Marlos and Mullins in merit; and Roth in aboreal.
