Bridal-gown give-away Tuesday
WARREN — The downtown Warren bridal shop Evaline’s is once again giving away free wedding dresses to military brides in honor of Independence Day.
The store, on East Market Street at Pine Avenue, conducted the first Brides Across America giveaway last November.
The giveaway will follow the same rules as in November and will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The giveaway is open to all engaged women who served in Iraq or Afghanistan or who have a fiance on active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan.
“This is a great way to show appreciation toward the troops and families for their sacrifice,” said Lori Dubasik, Evaline’s owner.
The store selected designer wedding gowns to give away on a first-come, first-served basis.
All brides must show I.D., copy of deployment papers, orders or other proof. Brides do not have to reside in the Warren area to qualify for the dress.
Evaline’s is one of two stores in Ohio selected to participate in the giveaway, launched by BridesAcrossAmerica.com, a Web site dedicated to helping women engaged to men serving in the two war zones. The other site is in Cincinnati.
