A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days for the holiday. The holiday, for the most part, will be celebrated today. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.

City offices: Youngstown; Warren; Niles; Salem; Sharon; New Castle; Newton Falls Municipal Court, closed today.

County and state offices: closed today.

Federal offices: U.S. Post Office, Youngstown, closed Saturday, closing at 3 p.m. today; Westside Station, Northside Station and Austintown, closing at 2 p.m. today. Warren, closed Saturday. Bankruptcy and District courts, closed today.

Universities: Youngstown State and Kent State Trumbull Campus, closed today.

Western Reserve Transit Authority: Closed Saturday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County; Warren-Trumbull; Hubbard Public Library, closed Saturday. Kinsman Free Public Library; Girard Free Library; Bristol Public Library, Bristolville; McKinley Memorial Library, Niles, closed today and Saturday. Newton Falls Public Library, closed today, Saturday and Sunday.

Stock market: Stifel-Nicolaus, closed today.

Banks: Chase Bank; Charter One; Cortland Banks; Farmers National Bank; First National Bank; First Place Bank, Warren; Home Federal Savings & Loan, Niles; Home Savings & Loan; Huntington Bank; Austintown; Key Bank; National City of Ohio; National City of Pennsylvania, open today, closed Saturday.

US Bank in Poland, Boardman, Canfield and Warren area, open today and Saturday.

Trash collection: Allison Brothers Inc., 9551 Gibson Road, North Jackson, servicing Austintown, Beaver, Berlin, Boardman, Canfield, Ellsworth, Goshen, Green and North Jackson, regular schedule, no delays; Waste Management and Warren City Environmental Services, regular pickup today, closed Saturday, service delayed one day. Allied Waste, closed Saturday, but no delays in service.
