Two more people plead guilty in Cleveland corruption probe
CLEVELAND (AP) — Two more people have pleaded guilty in a wide-ranging public corruption investigation in Cleveland.
Former county engineer’s office employee Daniel Gallagher of Strongsville entered guilty pleas Thursday to various conspiracy, theft, bribery and tax evasion charges under a plea agreement.
Businessman Brian Schuman of Bedford pleaded guilty to conspiracy.
No sentencing dates were set.
They pleaded guilty in an FBI investigation of alleged bribes paid to elected Cuyahoga County officials in return for steering contracts. No elected officials have been charged and a target of the probe, county Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, says he’s innocent of wrongdoing.
Two other former employees of the county engineer’s office pleaded guilty Wednesday.
