Rain suspends sandlot playoffs in Class B and Little b at Cene Park

STRUTHERS — The Class B League playoff game between the Astro Falcons and OTN Performance was suspended on Wednesday with one out in the bottom of the third inning with the Astro Falcons leading 3-2.

The game will resume today at 6 p.m., with the second game of the other playoff series between Dave Sugar Excavating and Wharmby Sports to follow.

Astro and Wharmby lead the best of three series 1-0.

Little b

The Little b playoffs were also rained out at Cene Park on Wednesday night.

The games will be played today on Field 2, with 1080 Media against Action Physical Therapy at 6 p.m., followed by Youngstown Express against Rondinelli Tuxedo.

For both series it will be Game 1 of a best-of-3 series.

Class AA League

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown Metros defeated Nemenz, 18-1 and 12-1, in Class AA action.

In the first game Cory Johnson had four hits, including a home run and double, and four RBIs. Jae Leeworthy had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs, while Matt Pitzulo, Armani Johnson and Dom Sylvestri all doubled twice. Joe Iacobucci and Ross Revella had three RBIs each.

In the second game, Eric Pirtz homered and drove in four runs. Mike Hoelzel added a triple and Dave Leon singled twice.`
