A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:

June 28

Vandalism: A Cook Avenue woman said her former boyfriend splintered a door and its frame to her apartment during a dispute.

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was removed from a safe at the McDonald’s restaurant, 15 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Miscellaneous tools were stolen from a vehicle belonging to a Parkersburg, W.Va., man staying at a Tiffany Boulevard motel.

Fraud: A Cascade Drive man told police he was the victim of Internet fraud in which he lost $122.

Burglary: The front door to a Stadler Avenue apartment was kicked in before someone took $300.

Theft: A Campbell man, 27, faced two counts of theft and one of possession of criminal tools. The man left Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, without paying for a high-definition TV, then returned a short time later to steal the same $428 set, a report said.

Theft by deception: A worker for Save-a-Lot, 223 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported being short-changed $50.

Theft: A $100 mailbox was stolen from the rear of a Boardman-Poland Road business.

Theft: A former employee was accused of taking a $225 electric-powered car from Hobby Town USA, 105 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Domestic violence: A 32-year-old Youngstown woman was charged after a Lemans Drive man reported having been swatted and punched in the face. He had an injury under his left eye and minor scrapes on his chest.

Theft: A global positioning system unit and three cases of gum were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Sequoya Drive.

Auto theft: A 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera was stolen in the 4400 block of Brookwood Road.

June 29

Burglary: Charges were filed against a woman, 22, and a 24-year-old man, both of Boardman, as police investigated a vehicular accident near West Boulevard, and after a break-in at a residence in the 5800 block. A folding knife and suspected marijuana pipe were found, leading to additional charges against the two.

Attempted felonious assault: A woman told authorities a man in his 20s driving a green 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier cut her off as she drove on South Avenue, then pulled up behind her when she stopped at a nearby store and intentionally drove his car toward her.

Fraud: A township man told police he reached a deal to buy a boat from someone online before sending a $6,400 bank transfer, but that the boat never arrived.

Misuse of a credit card: A Pine Hill Drive woman saw that her debit card had been used to make two unauthorized online purchases.

Theft: A city woman, 40, was picked up in the 7300 block of Market Street on a warrant from Youngstown.

Possible theft: A Southern Boulevard man said he believes his dog had been stolen.

Felonious assault: A 16-year-old township boy alleged a neighbor tried to coerce him into entering the man’s truck, then chased the boy on foot before returning to his truck and trying to run the teen over, causing him to fall backward.

Theft: A customer fraudulently got $170 from a cashier at a Boardman-Canfield Road store as part of a quick-change scam.

Assault: A man patronizing a Market Street restaurant told officers a woman entered and struck him in the face several times during an argument about a set of house keys.

Counterfeit: A fake $5 was passed at a BP Unimart station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s rear window and spoiler were damaged in the 1700 block of Brandon Avenue.

Robbery: A city woman, 27, faced charges of robbery, identity theft, obstructing official business and resisting arrest after $330 worth of clothing was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. She fought with store personnel and passed off her mother’s name as her own, a report said.

June 30

Theft: A cordless digital phone and headset were stolen in the 300 block of Mathews Road.

Theft: A Chaska, Minn., woman staying at a Tiffany Boulevard motel reported the theft of an $80 dress from her room.

Identity theft: A township woman whose purse had been stolen reported receiving in the mail a document that made her realize someone was using her personal information. Liberty police arrested someone they said was assuming the woman’s identity to cash checks, a report showed.

Criminal damaging: A car’s driver’s-side door and paint were damaged in the 200 block of Charles Avenue.

Theft of services: Four rooms were rented but not paid for, costing a South Avenue motel about $315.

Theft: A daybed spring mattress was removed from a room at a South Avenue motel.

Theft/criminal damaging: A vehicle at a South Avenue dealership had its dashboard damaged and car stereo was stolen.

Theft: Two Youngstown girls, 15 and 16, were charged, accused of stealing eight articles of women’s clothing and five women’s bathing suits from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. One of the teens also was charged with receiving stolen property.

Criminal mischief: Eggs were tossed at a home in the 6900 block of Glendale Avenue.

Burglary: A lawn mower and weed trimmer were taken from a garage in the 400 block of West Midlothian Boulevard.

Attempted burglary: Authorities received a report of a possible break-in at a residence in the 4800 block of Erie Street by two men who police said led them on a vehicular pursuit to Youngstown‘s South Side. Officers were unable to apprehend the men, a report said.

Arrest: A township boy, 16, was taken into custody at Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, after police answered a call regarding an act of vandalism. The teen was charged with obstructing official business and underage possession of tobacco.
