Weathersfield board receives 18 applications

MINERAL RIDGE — The Weathersfield board of education has received 18 applications to fill the superintendent’s job.
Michael Hanshaw resigned to become assistant superintendent at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center starting Aug. 1.
Deadline for applicants was 2 p.m. Monday. The board’s timeline is to start interviews July 8, with plans to fill the position by Aug. 1.
Board President Marilyn Besoiu said the board is looking for someone “who is going to fit into the district.”
Hanshaw resigned after 25 years with the district, the last five of which were as superintendent of schools.
Applicants for the superintendent’s position are:
