Delphi salaried retirees get congressional support from 22 representatives
YOUNGSTOWN — The Delphi Salaried Retirees Association said it has the support of 22 congressional representatives in its attempt to force the U.S. automotive task force to make public all documents concerning Delphi Corp.’s proposal to turn employee pensions over to the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corp.
The representatives have signed a letter that calls Delphi’s plan an “inequitable decision” as General Motors has agreed to assume the pension obligation for the supplier’s hourly workers.
This group cited estimates that the 15,000 Delphi salaried employees could lose as much as 70 percent of their pension payments.

In the past year, the incubator has approved six companies for occupancy, and the funds will be used to provide office space for them and future tenants.
“The Youngstown Business Incubator has become one of the Valley’s most valuable assets for economic development with an impressive roster of innovative start-up business tenants producing well-paying jobs and attracting talent to the downtown area,” said Janice Strasfeld, executive director of The Youngstown Foundation.
