Cochran to lead Mahoning Bar Association

YOUNGSTOWN — Atty. Scott R. Cochran has been elected president of the Mahoning County Bar Association for the coming year, succeeding Atty. James B. Dietz.
Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court and Attys. Jay Blackstone and James E. Roberts were elected to three-year terms as trustees. Elected to a two-year term as a trustee was Atty. Robert W. Price.
Also at Monday’s annual election banquet at the Youngstown Country Club, Attys. David S. Barbee and John F. Shultz received the distinguished service award; and Attys. James S. Gentile, Ronald D. Yarwood and Thomas E. Zena received the lawyer-of-the-year award.
Recognized for 50 years as lawyers were Attys. David C. Comstock Sr., Richard A. Stebelton and Ralph P. Petrucci. Atty. Vincent E. Gilmartin was honored for 55 years as a lawyer. Honored for 60 years in the legal profession were Attys. John Weed Powers, Henry C. Robinson and Joseph P. Sontich Sr.
The association’s foundation awarded scholarships to 10 students pursuing legal studies.
