A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

June 26

Assault: An East Liberty Street man alleged his brother beat him up.

Drugs: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard man housed in the Mahoning County Jail, accusing him of failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs.

Theft of services: Reported at a residence in the 400 block of Drummond Avenue.

June 27

Theft: An MP3 player was removed from a residence in the 30 block of Mackey Street.

Breaking and entering: A worker opening Fat’s Village Tavern, 746 N. Main St., discovered a break-in, and that items were missing.

June 29

Theft: A landscaping light and another item were stolen from a front yard in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue.

Domestic violence: Authorities took into custody a male juvenile at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill Road. He was wanted on a pick-up order issued by the Trumbull County Juvenile Court charging him.

Theft: A shoplifting situation was reported at Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.

Aggravated menacing: A North Main Street woman told police three or four juveniles came to her home, possibly to harm her son after a recent theft.

Possible theft: The owner of a Mahoning Avenue business accused a soon-to-be former employee from Hubbard of possessing several thousand dollars’ worth of equipment belonging to the business.

LIBERTY

June 26

Theft: A Girard man, 59, was cited on charges of theft and criminal trespassing, accused of having stolen a 12-pack of soda from a Speedway gas station, 4210 Belmont Ave.

Theft: Several pieces of jewelry, as well as coins, were stolen from a home in the 4600 block of Logan Gate Road.

Theft: A worker with a Belmont Avenue gas station reported giving a man, age 25 to 30, $212 for a magazine subscription, but never having gotten the merchandise.

Theft: A Girard man, 34, was charged in the theft of a black T-shirt from Big Lots, 3491 Belmont Ave. He also was wanted on a felony drug charge from Columbiana County.

Burglary: To a residence in the 900 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road that had been entered via a kitchen window. Stolen were a 48-inch flat-screen TV and three hanging-basket plants.

June 27

Arrest: Howland Township police handed a 35-year-old Youngstown man to Liberty authorities. He was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the township.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 1600 block of West Montrose Street led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Girard woman wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Threats: A Scott Lane woman told officers a Youngstown woman, 34, left threatening voice mails.

June 28

Criminal damaging: A brick was thrown at a mailbox in the 1700 block of Keefer Road, causing an estimated $50 of damage.

Assault: A man alleged his girlfriend’s mother, of Tuttle Lane, attacked him from behind during an argument, leaving a large scratch on his back.

Aggravated menacing: An employee with an auto repossession business looking for a vehicle in the 500 block of Santa Monica Drive told police that a 57-year-old resident of the 500 block answered the door, displayed a small firearm and threatened to shoot the worker.

June 29

Theft by deception: A Beverly Hills Drive woman discovered her account had been overdrawn by $2,773.53, which apparently was used for an online purchase without authorization.

Theft: A worker for a Belmont Avenue store reported his wallet missing.

GIRARD

June 27

Criminal mischief: An Emma Street man accused his former wife of damaging his residence. Police found damage to walls and a TV stand, they said.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen off a front porch in the 100 block of East Main Street.

June 29

Theft/criminal damaging: A work van belonging to a U.S. Route 422 business was damaged after someone had broken in and stolen a global positioning system unit.

Vandalism: A Crumlin Avenue man discovered damage to a shed and several lawn ornaments, and saw that his front-porch swing had been knocked over.
