Game notes: The loser of tonight’s game takes over sole possession of last place in the conference standings. The Penguins are coming off a terrible second half performance in a 57-42 loss to UIC. They shot just 13.3 percent and made just 4 of 30 field goal attempts. The Penguins have lost nine straight and 14 of 15. Thursday’s 15-point loss was their closest in their last eight games, all in the Horizon League. Loyola has lost 10 straight, including an 87-52 defeat at Cleveland State on Thursday. Series: The Ramblers lead 11-4, all since the Penguins joined the Horizon League. The teams have split their two season games in each of the last four seasons, winning at home and losing on the road. Last year the Penguins won 70-58 in Youngstown and lost 86-70 in Chicago. Up next: The Penguins play at league leading Green Bay at 8 p.m. Thursday, then play at Milwaukee at 3 p.m. Saturday.
