'Chili Cook-off' is set at St. Rose Church

GIRARD — The St. Rose Church “Chili Cook-Off,” Bake Sale and Chinese Auction will take place on Feb. 22 at Rosetta Hall, in the lower church, 48 E. Main Street.

The Bake Sale and Chinese Auction will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the Chili Cook-Off will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets cost $5 for 10 tastes of chili and are available at the church rectory or the day of the cook-off.

At this parish fundraiser, 10 cooks are to participate. They will be asked to make a roaster full of their own homemade chili (chefs will provide the chili and all its ingredients), and all who attend the fund-raiser will sample it. Bowls, spoons and napkins will be provided by the church.

Prizes will be awarded for the best chili and runners-up.
