ATHLETIC GROUPS

• Boardman Little Spartans will have a general membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the back room of Youngstown Sports Grille, 7463 South Ave., Boardman. The program topics will be football and cheering season, officer elections and highlights of the 2008 season.

• McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

AUXILIARIES

• Flora MacDonald Auxiliary will meet Feb. 7 at the home of Madeline Shanks. Dessert will be served at 1 p.m.

BOOSTERS

• Girard Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

• Mahoning Valley Professional Baseball Association will have its 2009 season kickoff meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Inner Circle Pizza, 4520 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Trustees are required to attend for voting on the new Backers logo. Larry Snyder will preside, and the topic will be the membership drive for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers season. • Campbell Memorial High School Classes of January and June 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s restaurant in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at What’s Cookin’ on South Avenue. Members are to note the change in time and location.

• Chaney High School January and June 1942 alumni will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s in Austintown. All classmates and friends are welcome. Reservations are not necessary.

• Chaney High School January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Feb. 10 at Molly’s restaurant on Salt Springs Road. All alumni are invited.

• Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s on state Route 224, Boardman, Classmates and guests are welcome.

CLUBS

• The February meeting of the College Club of Sharon will take place Feb. 14. Judy Grandelis, owner of Amazing Foods Catering of Franklin, Pa., will present a program consisting of a cooking demonstration and artistry in food presentation beginning at 10:30 a.m. (Please note the change in time.) in Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St. Members are urged to take napkins to learn how to artfully fold. Grandelis will also cater a luncheon honoring past presidents and honorary College Club members, women who have been members for 50 years or more. Serving on the hospitality committee for this event are Jane Turcic and Kelly Bailey. • Youngstown Panhellenic will resume meetings at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Poland Library. A program on “Creating Valentines” will be presented by Melissa D’Apolito. Those attending are asked to take along pictures.

• Youngstown Road Runners Club will meet for a run/walk at 9 a.m. Sunday at Bears Den Cabin, on New Cross Road in Mill Creek Park. Club trustees will preside. The Alzheimer’s Association also offers Families in Transition, an educational and support program for those experiencing early stage memory loss.
