HUBBARD
Jan. 25
Assault: A person reported having been assaulted near Gypsy Lane. No other information was in the report.
Bad check: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a township woman accusing her of failing to appear in court to face one count of passing a bad check.
Jan. 26
Theft: An air-conditioning unit was removed from a building belonging to Pine Lakes Golf Club, 6233 W. Liberty St.
Domestic violence: Police charged a Hubbard man after an employee of a West Liberty Street bank reported a co-worker was struck by the co-worker’s husband.
Counterfeit: A phony $20 bill was passed at Seven Seventeen Credit Union, 627 W. Liberty St.

Drugs: Bazetta Township police picked up and turned over to Hubbard authorities a township man wanted on a felony warrant charging him with drug possession.
Counterfeit: A Seven Seventeen Credit Union employee reported receiving a fake $100 bill.

Identity theft: A report was filed from Hubbard Gas & Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
LIBERTY
Jan. 22
Theft/bad check: Two people rented but failed to return two floor sanders to Rental Corral, 1530 Gypsy Lane, and a check written to pay for items was returned on a closed account.
Drug paraphernalia: A vehicle was pulled over on East Liberty Street, where a 19-year-old Hubbard man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a bag with a small amount of a white powder was found. The teen admitted the bag had contained heroin, a report showed.
Arrest: Authorities responded to a suspicious person in the 3800 block of Belmont Avenue and charged a Youngstown man, 23, with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The man, who also was wanted on a theft warrant, struggled with police, a report said.
Arrests: While responding to a disturbance at a Church Hill-Hubbard Road residence, officers arrested two Youngstown men, 34 and 44. The younger man faced two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of criminal damaging; the other man was wanted on a warrant from Canfield charging him with contempt of court. A bag containing about 2.6 grams of suspected marijuana was found, a report showed.

Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $32 worth of gasoline before leaving a Unimart station, 2703 Belmont Ave. The payment was later made, however.
Counterfeit: An employee of Mid America Court Services, 129 Mansell Drive, accused a 42-year-old Youngstown woman of giving him two phony $10 bills to pay fees for her son.
Possible assault: A worker with Mahoning County Children Services, Youngstown, filed a report alleging a 13-year-old girl’s stepfather had struck her numerous times on her lower back and thigh with a belt. The teen had scratches, bruises and swelling, a police report said.
Arrest: Officers responded to an unwanted person at a Trumbull Court apartment complex and apprehended a 32-year-old Youngstown man, charging him with criminal trespassing and obstructing official business. The man, who had been warned to stay off the property, gave a false name and led police on a foot pursuit, they said.

Burglary/criminal damaging: A person checking a home in the 1100 block of Mansell Drive found a side garage door had been kicked in, though no entry was made to the residence and nothing appeared to be missing.
Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 49, was charged after authorities got a 911 call from a Motor Inn Drive motel and found a woman bleeding from a cut to her right ear. The woman alleged her intoxicated boyfriend, during an argument, struck her arms and chest, pushed her to the ground and pulled her hair; the man said he was defending himself.

Robbery: A worker at a Speedway gas station, 4210 Belmont Ave., told police a man, age 35 to 45 in a black coat and blue jeans, had what appeared to be a weapon in his coat pocket and demanded money before fleeing on foot.
Burglary: A man returned to his home in the 800 block of Mansell Drive and found a rear door open. Missing were a 32-inch TV, a videocassette recorder, a computer and other items.
Arrest: Police, conducting a follow-up investigation of a gas station robbery, arrested a Youngstown man, 20, at a Belmont Avenue motel on a warrant. He was not charged in the robbery, though.
Jan. 26
Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to a 20-year-old Warren woman’s arrest on charges of obstructing a police officer and driving under the influence.
Theft: An employee of a Belmont Avenue business learned that someone was using an account number belonging to the store to pay personal bills.
Theft: A wallet belonging to a worker with a Belmont Avenue fast-food restaurant was turned in, though $120 was missing.
GIRARD
Jan. 27
Menacing: A Plymouth Avenue woman reported a Girard man she met online threatened to seek revenge when she informed him she no longer wanted to be friends. The man told police his former girlfriend left a message threatening to shoot him.
Menacing: A Taylor Avenue woman reported receiving two threatening cell-phone messages, on one of which the caller threatened to shoot the accuser and beat up her mother.
Jan. 28
Forgery: A man at a North State Street restaurant reported another man gave the accuser an $895 money order before a letter stated the order was counterfeit.
Menacing: A worker with a U.S. Route 422 gas station told officers a Girard man began a tirade of threats and made a gesture simulating holding a firearm.
Jan. 29
Theft: A man in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue reported a spare tire/rim was stolen off the roof of his vehicle.
Assault: An Austintown woman retrieving personal property from a Joans Court residence alleged her former boyfriend pinned her to a wall, then chased and caught her outside before placing his hand over her mouth, preventing her from breathing. The accuser had informed the 37-year-old Girard man their relationship was over, police said.
