Police said a woman was taken to the basement and raped during the crime.

YOUNGSTOWN — Two suspects in an armed home invasion and a woman accused of possessing items stolen in that crime have been indicted by the Mahoning County grand jury.

Lexter Williams, 28, of Kendis Circle, and a John Doe defendant were indicted Thursday on three counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary, four counts of kidnapping and one count of rape, with firearm specifications to all counts, in the Jan. 22 invasion in the 100 block of Livingston Street.

Because of his 2003 felonious assault conviction, Williams was also indicted on a charge of being a felon with a gun.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in the home invasion, and his case is pending in juvenile court. The John Doe defendant is still at large.

Williams’ girlfriend, Tamika Jones, 25, of Kendis Circle, was indicted on charges of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance (a sawed-off shotgun), being a felon with a gun and receiving stolen property. Jones was convicted of aggravated assault in 2005.

The Livingston Street homeowner told police he was watching TV with his girlfriend and a male friend when three intruders entered through an unlocked door.

The homeowner said two of the intruders were armed, ordered the home’s occupants to the floor and demanded money.

The woman was taken to the basement and raped, police reports said. The intruders took cell phones, cash and other items, police said.

Williams fled from a traffic stop, and he and the juvenile were arrested on the South Side after a foot pursuit, police said.

A search of Jones’ apartment turned up a camera, a cell phone, a computer game and jewelry believed to have been taken in the burglary and the sawed-off shotgun, police said.
