Weather makes some Trumbull County roads treacherous

WARREN — Road conditions began to deteriorate today at about 9 a.m. in Trumbull County, as rain turned back to snow and started coming down in large quantities.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol barracks in Warren reported that a number of “slide-offs” had been reported during drive-time this morning, but there were no serious accidents.

The Trumbull County 911 center reported just one weather-related accident having been reported overnight, but the number of accidents had increased between about 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., when nine were reported, said Dale Hayne, a dispatching supervisor.

The Niles dispatching operation, which also handles Weathersfield Township, reported that a couple of slide-off accidents had occurred this morning on Tibbetts-Wick and Four-Mile Run roads, both in Weathersfield Township.

The Warren Police Department reported no vehicle accidents today as of about 9:30 a.m.
