Team effort delivers Kent State a victory
KENT (AP) — Al Fisher led three players in double digits and Kent State’s defense held Eastern Michigan scoreless for the final eight minutes as the Golden Flashes grabbed a 68-46 home win Tuesday night.
Fisher finished with 17 points, Tyree Evans came off the bench to add 15, including three 3-pointers, and Jordan Mincy had 13 for Kent State (9-11, 2-4 Mid-American Conference).
Justin Dobbins led Eastern Michigan (3-17, 1-5) with 19 points, and Brandon Bowdry added 12.
It was the Flashes’ 13 straight win over the Eagles.
Eastern Michigan was up by five early in the first half, but went into the break down 27-21. Kent State held the Eagles to 6-of-28 shooting from the field in the second half, compared with the Flashes’ 14-of-28.
Kent State scored 25 points off turnovers to Eastern Michigan’s 13.
