A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman and Poland townships:

BOARDMAN

Jan. 22

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 33, was charged with violation of a protection order after an employee with a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant alleged her estranged husband called her at work.

Arrest: After being pulled over near Charles Avenue, a 27-year-old Boardman man was arrested on a probation-violation charge.

Assault: A West Boulevard woman alleged her boyfriend threw her into a wall and to the ground when he demanded money and she refused to give him any. She was not seriously injured.

Theft: A Poland woman and a Lowellville woman, both 18, were charged, accused in the theft of $587 worth of clothing and merchandise from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was taken from her purse at a Market Street business.

Drugs: A township woman, 22, was taken into custody after police stopped her on McClurg Road and learned she was wanted on a misdemeanor charge of possession of dangerous drugs.

Burglary: A man reported a burglary to his South Avenue apartment in which several women’s undergarments and other items were missing.

Attempted misuse of a credit card: A man reported a burglary to his Volney Road residence, and that someone stole and tried to use his credit card at a Market Street salon. Two arrests were made related to the break-in.

Theft/menacing: A Cook Avenue woman told officers her former boyfriend stole her vehicle’s front license plate and made about 100 harassing calls to her cell phone.

Theft: Miscellaneous jewelry was stolen from a Southern Park Mall store.

Burglary: A man renovating a vacant home in the 100 block of Melrose Avenue heard suspicious noises inside and discovered an open screen door.

Identity theft: A Bob-o-Link Drive man told police that a collection agency notified him of an outstanding debt, and of finding out his Social Security number and other information had been used to open an account.

Jan. 23

Menacing: The father of a pupil at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St., reported his daughter had received threatening text messages from a former friend threatening to beat up and kill the girl.

Theft: A $69 gift card was stolen from the J.C. Penney store in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A 36-year-old North Jackson man was charged in the theft of a $74 cologne pack from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A purse was removed from a shopping cart at a Tiffany Boulevard store.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of $700 and a camera from her vehicle while at a Boardman-Poland Road business.

Theft: A student at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., discovered an MP3 player and a cell phone missing from her locker.

Assault: Authorities responded to a fight at Southern Park Mall and arrested a 20-year-old Euclid, Ohio, woman and a 23-year-old Youngstown woman. The younger woman was wanted on felony warrants charging her with two counts of theft and one count of misuse of a credit card; the local woman faced a probation-violation charge.

Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 21, was arrested while being treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center Boardman Campus, 8401 Market St., and charged after an Applecrest Court woman alleged he punched her in the face and struck her several more times during an argument.

Domestic violence: A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody at her Erskine Avenue home and charged. A man alleged his girlfriend, during an argument, scratched his left eye and both forearms.

Domestic violence: A 39-year-old Indianola Road man was charged after his wife alleged he bit her on the chin as they argued.

Theft: A Paulin Drive woman reported a $167 check stolen from her mailbox.

Fraud: A Campbell woman reported receiving a call from a man claiming he had been in a vehicular accident and needed her to wire money to him. The woman told police she sent him a $4,896 money gram from a Doral Drive business.

Theft: A $400 cell phone was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a door and entered Ice Zone, 360 McClurg Road, and stole a safe.

Theft: A J.C. Penney employee accused a co-worker of making a fraudulent credit-card payment for an undisclosed sum. A register was short by the same amount, the worker told police.

Jan. 24

Theft: A compact disc and a DVD were stolen from Circuit City, 7230 Market St.

Breaking and entering: A Hillman Way woman discovered someone had entered her car, though nothing appeared to have been taken.

Theft: Two men in their 20s fled in a gray vehicle after stealing 36 Sony PlayStation 3 games as well as DVDs from Movie Gallery, 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road, and costing the store $2,520.

Fraud: A Ron Park Drive man noticed an $89.31 unauthorized debit to his checking account.

Theft: A 15-year-old township girl was accused in the theft of a $22 necklace from Sears in Southern Park Mall. She also was charged with resisting arrest and being an unruly juvenile.

Jan. 25

Domestic violence: A Boardman woman, 29, was arrested at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, on a warrant. Earlier, a male family member alleged she bit him numerous times on both arms during an argument.

Vandalism: A worker for Camelot Lanes Inc., 628 Boardman-Canfield Road, found a broken glass door.

POLAND

Jan. 22

Burglary: A South Hubbard Road man filed a break-in report, saying a $150 rifle had been stolen.

Criminal damaging: A double-pane window was broken at a vacant office building in the 6900 block of Center Road.

Criminal damaging: A Coitsville Road man reported $500 worth of damage to his 1998 Nissan.

Arrest: A Lowellville man, 23, was arrested on felony charges of theft and forgery after a Center Road woman reported 15 personal checks had been stolen and cashed without consent.

Jan. 23

Drugs: A traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and Diana Drive led to a 19-year-old Poland man’s arrest on charges of possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol. A suspected marijuana cigarette was in the car, a report said.

Identity theft: A Timberbrooke Trail man reported his credit-card number was used to make $333 worth of unauthorized purchases.

Jan. 25

Drugs: A vehicle was pulled over on U.S. Route 224, which resulted in the arrests of a woman, 23, and a 24-year-old man, both of New Castle, Pa. The man faced a felony count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; the woman was charged with possession of drugs when, police said, a bag containing suspected marijuana was found.
