CANFIELD CITY

Jan. 15

Counterfeit bills: The school resource officer was called to Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, about a student seen with six counterfeit $100 bills. The student admitted having the bills and said he had sold one to another student. He said the counterfeit bills were given to him by another student. Police discovered the second student was also involved with a Beaver Township home where the counterfeit money was found, and allegations of students’ being forced to have sex have been made.

Jan. 19

Theft: A TomTom GPS system was stolen from an auto in the 30 block of South Meridian Road.

Theft: Stolen credit cards were used to purchase items at Uni-Mart, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A fraudulent parts order was made through Fyda Freightliner, 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: An employee was accused of stealing gift cards at Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A valve was stolen from a trailer at Cerni Motors, 5751 Cerni Place.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted telephone calls were reported at a home in the 100 block of South Roanoke Avenue.

Jan. 20

Theft: Two accounts had been accessed with debit cards and withdrawals made on both causing overdrafts totaling more than $1,000 at Woodforest Bank, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A purse was stolen at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An employee was seen placing items a bag without paying for them at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., and having another person return them for cash.

Theft: A man reported he had been unable to obtain a washer and dryer and $400 for a heater that was agreed upon when he sold his home to another party in the 5000 block of Callaway Circle.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted text messages and phone calls were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.

Jan. 22

Theft: A welder was rented and not returned at the Rental Corral, 5020 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A TomTom GPS system and a telephone charger were stolen from an auto at Ryder Transport, 650 N. Meridian Road.

Aggravated menacing: An Austintown Fitch High School student was threatened by a student in a classroom.

Theft: A GPS and CB radio were taken from an auto at Fyda Freightliner, 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Menacing: Messages were sent to the victim by computer at a home in the 2000 block of Frostwood Drive.

Theft: A girl was caught stealing at Wal-Mart.

Theft: One male and one female suspect were arrested for stealing at Wal-Mart.

Theft: Four commercial vehicle batteries were stolen from an auto at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A wallet was stole from pants left in a truck at Pilot.

Bad check: A bad check for $2,349 was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Theft: $20.51 in fuel was taken at Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Giant Eagle.

Recovered property: A woman’s purse and its contents were recovered at Giant Eagle.

Theft: A man was seen stealing at Giant Eagle but fled from security.

Menacing: A woman is accused of making threatening phone calls at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Jan. 24

Theft: A Sony laptop was stolen from a vehicle in the township.

Telecommunications harassment: A woman was a victim in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Harassment: A woman was a victim of harassment at an apartment in the 100 block of Compass West apartments.

Criminal damaging: A rear window was broken in a vehicle in the driveway of a home in the 60 block of North Navarre Avenue.

Breaking and entering: A Craftsman compressor was stolen from an unattached garage at a home in the 200 block of Idlewood Avenue.

Breaking and entering: A 2008 Yamaha four-wheeler and a 1992 Kawasaki were stolen from a shed in the rear yard of a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: An employee was tricked while giving change at Eat’n Park, 5459 Mahoning Ave.

Disrupting public service: An electrical box was tampered with and pulled from the siding at a home 3000 block of Lake Road.

Menacing: A man is accused of menacing at a home in the 5000 block of Ashley Circle.

Jan. 25

Theft: Numerous items of jewelry were stolen at Wal-Mart.

Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A driver’s-side and rear windows of a vehicle were shattered in the driveway of a home in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Recovered property: A bicycle was recovered in the woods in the 1000 block of South Four Mile Run Road.

Drug offense: An Austintown man was arrested for permitting drug abuse, and a second man was charged with possession of cocaine at Giant Eagle.
