Wildcat’s Comedy Club to open in Boardman

BOARDMAN — Sam Whittaker of Cortland is opening Wildcat’s Comedy Club at the Boardman Holiday Inn. The opening show will be Jay London on Friday and Saturday. The club is to be open Fridays and Saturdays with shows at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Shows will be in the hotel ballroom. Whittaker, who has performed stand-up comedy under the name Wildcat, said he saw a need for a comedy club in Boardman. More information is available at www.wildcatcomedy.com.

Fed banking official to be keynote speaker

BOARDMAN — Mark Sniderman, executive vice president and chief policy officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, will be the keynote speaker at the Regional Chamber’s economic forecast program. It will be at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 6 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave.

Sniderman, a Youngstown native, will address the current global economic crisis and how that will impact businesses and industries in the Mahoning Valley and Northeast Ohio. He also will provide insights into economic trends.

Also, Walt Good, the chamber’s vice president of economic development, will provide an overview of his staff’s accomplishments over the past five years in assisting companies in locating or expanding in the Mahoning Valley.

Curtain Call Dancewear features variety of lines

NILES — Curtain Call Dancewear has opened at 815 Youngstown-Warren Road. Kelli Stiffy, the owner of the store, has been interested in dance since age 3, when she began taking lessons. The store offers a variety of dance apparel and shoes. It also carries product lines for gymnastics, cheerleading, baton, aerobic and fitness wear, ice skating and ballroom dance. The store also has a consignment boutique. Clients are encouraged to bring in their dance costumes and very gently worn shoes for resale.

The Mark Cole Agency is a full-service, multiple-line agency specializing in American National Insurance Co. products that include auto, property and casualty, life and health insurance. In addition, the Austintown business provides business and agriculture insurance coverage. American National Insurance Co. also offers annuities for its customers.

Diocese credit union opens Liberty office

LIBERTY — The Diocese of Youngstown Federal Credit Union has opened its new office at 1500 Gypsy Lane. Members will conduct their banking business in individual offices instead of teller windows to assure privacy. The building also has two drive-through lanes. The credit union previously was in the Carpenter’s Union hall on Rayen Avenue.

The credit union has steadily grown since its assets first reached $1 million in 1981. It now has $27 million in assets and a staff of five.
