MEDICINE

Sharon Regional Health System added Dr. Joseph M. Abalos to its medical staff. Dr. Abalos specializes in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. He is associated with family medicine specialist Dr. Jay W. Porter III, with offices at 3150 Highland Road in Hermitage. Dr. Abalos received his medical education from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, W.Va., and completed a three-year residency at UPMC McKeesport in Pittsburgh.

Ankle & Foot Care Centers added Dr. Kwame A. Williams to its staff of podiatric physicians and surgeons. He is accepting patients at the Boardman, Liberty and Youngstown locations. Dr. Williams earned a doctor of podiatric medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University in Providence, R.I. He completed his podiatric residency training at Forum Health and completed a fellowship with Ankle & Foot Care Centers.

BANKING

Cheryl Hardwick of Champion has been hired as a relationship banker at First Place Bank’s Champion branch. She will be responsible for managing current and new customer accounts. Hardwick has 20 years of banking experience.

Home Savings and Loan Co. has named Brooks McDowell as assistant vice president in secondary markets. He had been a secondary market analyst with SIRVA Mortgage. McDowell earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from John Carroll University.

REAL ESTATE

Three established Realtors have joined the Howland office of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. Lucy DelGiudice is a 19-year veteran of the real estate field who has earned the advanced professional designation of Accredited Buyer Representative. Salvatore DelGiudice is joining the office along with his wife, Lucy, as part of a real estate team. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in computer science. The couple resides in Howland. Lena Pilgrim has earned membership in the President’s Sales Club of the Ohio Association of Realtors as an annual million-dollar sales producer. In addition to real estate, she has a background in retail management.

VALUATION

Strategic Valuation Group has promoted Todd Bryarly to senior appraiser. He joined Strategic Valuation Group in 2007 as a business valuation analyst. He will manage valuations for income tax, estate tax, shareholder disputes, lawsuits, divorce, financial reporting and transactions. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.

LAW

Atty. J. Bradley Allison of East Palestine has joined the Salem office of Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell. Allison is the law director for East Palestine and will maintain that position. He will focus his private practice in estate planning, probate administration and general law. He had been a partner with Allison & Blasdell, an East Palestine firm that is dissolving as its senior partner, Daniel Blasdell, winds down his private practice to focus on his work as municipal attorney for Columbiana. Allison is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Law School and has an undergraduate degree from Maryville College in Tennessee.

TECHNOLOGY

Henry Schein Medical Systems has added several staff members. Linda Wise was named a software support specialist. She had been medical office administrative instructor at Trumbull Business College. Matthew Liller was hired as a technical writer. He had been a therapeutic staff support worker for Comprehensive Child and Family Services. He earned a master’s degree in English and a bachelor’s degree in professional writing and editing from Youngstown State University. Debra Anthony was named a software support specialist. She had been a medical assistant with Akron Pediatric Neurology. She has a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Duquesne University. Stephen Wloch was hired as an information technology specialist. He previously worked at the help desk at Salem Community Hospital and is a graduate of ITT Technical Institute. Diane Pool was named a software support specialist. She had been an office manager for two local pediatricians. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

SERVICE

Sarah Rowney has been named manager of business development projects at the Regional Chamber. She had been executive and government affairs coordinator. Rowney is responsible for functions relating to business retention, expansion and attraction in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. She earned a master’s degree in criminal justice studies and statistical methods and a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement studies, both from Youngstown State University.

Also, the chamber named Shari Budge as executive and government affairs coordinator. She is managing the administrative activities and functions that supporting the executive office of the president and chief executive of the chamber. In addition, she is assisting and supporting the vice president of government affairs. She had been an administrative assistant at the Area Agency on Agency. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish at Youngstown State University.

MANUFACTURING

Stacey Hoover has been hired as general manager of Niles Fence & Security Products in Niles. She had been operations manager of Hoover Fence. She is a certified fence professional and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Kent State University.

PUBLISHING

Adam Kalcic of Boardman has been hired as a Web designer at Great Lakes Publishing in Cleveland. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in applied science and a Web communications major.
