RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico — Lisa Michelle Thomas of North Royalton and Michael John Spiech of Canfield were united in marriage in a sunset ceremony Jan. 8 on the beach in Riviera Maya. The Rev. Enrique Monroy officiated.

A reception, also on the beach, followed, and the couple honeymooned in the area.

The bride wore an orange low-cut, flowing, above-the-knee dress with embellishments.

Matron of honor was Shelley Lutz of Hinckley.

Best men were Todd Lutz of Hinckley and Bill Peterson of North Canton, though a brief illness prevented Peterson from attending.

The bride, daughter of Tom and Sonja Thomas of Cleveland, earned a bachelor’s degree in business at Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, and a master’s degree in business administration at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, Cleveland. She is employed by Sterling Jewelers Inc. in Fairlawn as senior director of Risk, Financial and Project Management.

The groom, son of the late Ted and Florence Spiech, is a PGA golf professional and the head golf pro at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield.

The couple live in Canfield.
