YOUNGSTOWN — Chaney senior Alyssa Sykes scored 17 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Cowgirls broke free from a 29-29 tie to claim the victory. Sykes also had 10 assists for Chaney (6-6), which outscored the Bulldogs 27-15 in the final quarter. Marcinde North added 17 points and five blocks while Laniece McRae had five points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. Bre Hull scored 22 to lead the Bulldogs (2-8).

Lutheran East 67, Ursuline 58

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS — Annjelina Robinson scored 19 points, Latisha Walker had 13 and Amber Bogard added 12 to lead Lutheran East (12-2), which was ranked seventh in Division IV in the latest AP poll. Luchia Petrus scored 13 of her 16 points in the second half for the Irish (5-6), who outscored Lutheran East 37-33 in the second half.

Poland 49, Niles 29

POLAND — After a string of games against ITCL Red Tier opponents Howland, Canfield and Salem, Poland finally registered a Red Tier win by taking an early 11-0 lead against winless Niles. Senior guard/forward Missy Haug had 20 points for the Bulldogs (7-8, 1-3) who jumped out to a 31-6 halftime lead. T. Rolfe had 10 points for Niles (0-15).

Struthers 61, Hubbard 47

STRUTHERS — Helen Hird scored 10 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter as Struthers stayed unbeaten in the All-American Conference White Tier. Dana Mathews had 15 points and Sally Phillips 11 for the Wildcats (10-5, 4-0), who took a 45-33 lead entering the final quarter. Cara Julian scored 19 points for Hubbard (5-10, 1-3).

Perry 54, Fitch 22

MASSILLON — Jasmyne Kirksey and Elizabeth Marino each scored 16 points for Perry (10-5, 3-2 Federal League). Erica Braxton led the Falcons (4-9, 0-6) with eight points.

Newton Falls 52, Campbell 48

CAMPBELL — Although Newton Falls led by 11, Jayaira Grhim’s 3-point goal and Tashira Uceta’s three-point play narrowed Campbell’s deficit to 49-46 with 0:16 remaining before the Tigers made three of four free throws in the end. Kelsey McGregor had eight of her 20 points in the first quarter for the winners, who got strong inside putbacks from Destiny Prusky. Newton Falls (11-3, 5-0 ITCL Blue) had a 25-19 halftime lead. Uceta, a junior, had 20 points, 10 steals and four assists while Grhim, a junior, finished with 13 points for the Red Devils (9-4, 3-1 Blue). Nine of Uceta’s points game in the final quarter.

Liberty 67, Springfield 51

LIBERTY — A 40-point second half enabled Liberty to overcome first-half uncertainty. Shanae Thomas had 19 points and eight rebounds while Melissa Dykes and Chi-Chi Meriweather added 17 and 11 points, respectively, for Liberty (7-8). Meriweather also grabbed eight rebounds. Rachael Kennedy’s 13 points and eight rebounds paced Springfield (5-9, 2-7).

Brookfield 55, LaBrae 27

BROOKFIELD — Ashley Swezey scored 19 points for the Warriors (7-6, 2-2 All-American Conference Blue). Kodi Brenner scored 10 points while Paige Wallace had eight rebounds. For the Vikings (2-11, 0-4), Emily Potter scored 14 points and Courtney Aldridge had five rebounds.

Youngstown Christian 61, Leetonia 57 (2 OT)

YOUNGSTOWN — Kristi Cooper made two free throws to force overtime, then another pair of free throws by the junior sealed the final outcome for the Eagles (3-11). Sophomore Rashida Strozier had 10 of her 16 points in overtime to aid the winners, who got 12 rebounds from Cooper. Gina Jones’ 15 points paced Leetonia (5-7).

Northwest 54, West Branch 42

CANAL FULTON — Dakota Harkins scored 17 points to lead Northwest (8-4, 5-4 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Emilee Zets had 19 points for the Warriors (6-8, 4-6).
