Community fundraisers Ava Timko

In an effort to help Lori and Brad Timko, whose 1-year-old daughter, Ava, has just been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, Lori’s aunt Suzanne Tucci and co-worker Dana Myers have begun organizing several fundraisers.

WAYS TO DONATE

What: The Ava Timko Fund

Where and how: Stop by any Home Savings and Loan or mail a check to the branch on 32 State St., Struthers.

What: Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar donations

Where: Applebee’s, 6691 South Ave., Boardman

When: 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 4.

How: Patrons who bring a flier will have 10 percent of their bill donated to The Ava Timko Fund. Contact Dana Myers at dmyers2220@yahoo.com for a flier.

What: Spaghetti dinner

Where: Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive.

When: 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 8.

How: Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children under 3. Contact Dana Myers at dmyers2220@yahoo.com for tickets. Tickets to the dinner are also available at the door.

What: Dinner-dance

Where: St. Nick’s Social Hall, 764 Fifth St., Struthers.

When: 7 to 11 p.m. March 24.

How: Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by contacting Suzanne Tucci at (330) 536-2136. Donations of $1,000, $500 and $250, which are considered platinum, gold and silver, respectively, can also be made. These donations will be recognized during the benefit.
