‘Redneck Wedding’ episode from Truck Night

YANKEE LAKE — Saturday’s episode of “My Big Redneck Wedding” on CMT will feature local couple Heinz and Kimberly’s wedding at Truck Night at Yankee Lake, which was filmed last summer. The episode airs at 3 and 9 p.m.; and again at 5 p.m. Sunday and 12:15 a.m. Monday. The Portersville, Pa., couple are regulars at Truck Night, and their wedding includes the ceremony from the Git-R-Done Chapel in the mud bog, exploding cakes, skydivers and fireworks.

Gallery to exhibit YSU students’ works

NILES — An exhibition of works created by advanced fine art students and graduating art education students at Youngstown State University opens Friday and runs through Feb. 22 at Art Outreach Gallery in Eastwood Mall. An opening reception and gallery talk will begin at 6 p.m. Friday.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 7, the gallery will host the first LEGO League Tournament in Center Court of Eastwood Mall. At 6 p.m. that day, students from Boardman Middle School will transform the gallery for a Symphony Ensemble.

Art Outreach Gallery is located across from American Eagle Outfitters, along the concourse between Macy’s and J.C. Penney’s. Hours are 5-9 p.m. Friday; 1-9 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Hoyt seeks artists for solo exhibitions

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts is seeking artists to fill its 2010-11 solo exhibition schedule. Artists living in the mid-Atlantic region can apply by submitting a proposal that includes contact information, exhibition statement, 10-20 images on CD (jpeg format, 500kb maximum) or slides, image list (including title, media and dimensions), r sum or curriculum vitae, a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of materials and $30 fee to: Solo Exhibition Proposals, Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, 124 E. Chris Higbee Project at Westminster College

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — The Chris Higbee Project concert originally scheduled for November at Westminster College has been rescheduled for 8 p.m. Jan. 29 in Orr Auditorium. The concert will benefit the college’s Habitat for Humanity chapter.

Higbee formed the Chris Higbee Project after the Povertyneck Hillbillies, which he founded, dissolved.
