Learning center opens

YOUNGSTOWN — Happy Campers Learning Center has opened at 388 E. Midlothian Blvd. It is focused on the positive reinforcement and education of pre-kindergarten children. It provides children with educational fundamentals that include the creative arts, multicultural activities, science, music, social studies and gross and fine motors skills. The owner is Tracy Jordan, and Vonetta Davis is the administrator.

Majority of residents back government consolidation

CLEVELAND — Two out of three Northeast Ohio residents said in a survey that they favor consolidation of government. Fund for Our Economic Future, a collaboration of area agencies that focuses on the region’s economic competitiveness, surveyed 2,300 residents in a 16-county area.

The survey found that 98 percent of those surveyed said their county is part of Northeast Ohio. It said 76 percent of residents reported being satisfied or highly satisfied with the region as a place to live.

It found that 82 percent favor greater government collaborations, and 67 percent back government consolidations.
