‘Valley Gold Show’ gets deal with European broadcaster

YOUNGSTOWN — The producer of “The Valley Gold Show with Debor’ah Benton” has signed a five-year syndication deal with Global Broadcasting Co., which plans to air the show in Europe on its America Unleashed cable channel.

“The Valley Gold Show,” which started in 2005, features interviews and performances with celebrities and entertainers. It airs at noon Saturdays on local Fox affiliate WYFX 17/62.

The show will be part of Global Broadcasting’s package of channels which feature content by independent producers from the United States. The package includes America Unleashed, Total Hip Hop Television, News and Finance, Indie Pix and Classics, Faith Lifestyle, Indie Sports Games and Comedy, and Travel Home and Garden. The launch is expected this year.

“I had to work frantically to get the first four shows to the network by deadline,” said Debor’ah Benton, the producer and host of “The Valley Gold Show.” “A few days later, the network called and asked for 10 more shows ASAP.”

The show, which began in Benton’s living room, will now be available across Europe, which, she said, will increase her ability to attract top celebrities. Benton said the shows could become a draw to attract people to Youngstown.

The show is taped in Benton’s studio in downtown Youngstown before a studio audience of up to 200 people.
