Author to highlight Literary Society event

Place:Youngstown Public Library

305 Wick Ave., Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — The Literary Society Author Event is a highlight of the February calendar at the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County.

This year’s fundraiser features New York Times best-selling fiction writer Adriana Trigiani at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Main Library, 305 Wick Ave.

Trigiani’s novels are enjoyed by readers worldwide, including her “Big Stone Gap” series, “Lucia, Lucia,” “The Queen of the Big Time” and “Rococo.” Critics from the Washington Post, The New York Times and People magazine have described Trigiani’s novels as “tiramisu of the soul,” “sophisticated and wise” and “dazzling.”

Trigiani’s visit to the library will follow her newest release, “Very Valentine,” due out in early February.

Tickets for the event are $50 each, which includes membership in the Literary Society.

The evening will include food, a cash bar, a raffle, musical entertainment and an autographed Adriana Trigiani book.

For information about reservations, call Deborah Liptak, library development director, at (330) 744-8636, Ext. 118.

The main library will be closed all day Feb. 13 to prepare for the Literary Society Author Event. This affects the Main library only — all other libraries in the system will operate on their regular schedules that day.
