Chapin-Bendali engagement is being announced

CHAMPION — Douglas and Juliet Chapin of Champion are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Khristen Daphne Chapin, and Rachid Bendali, a son of Azzedine and Fatma Bendali of Casablanca, Morocco.

The bride-to-be graduated from Hiram College with a degree in English.

She is employed as a marketing manager by an architectural firm in Raleigh, N.C., and is enrolled in classes for public instruction licensure with the NC TEACH program at North Carolina State University.

The future groom earned a degree in polymer engineering at the University of Akron.

He oversees aerospace and defense engineering and marketing at LORD Corp. in Cary, N.C., and is enrolled at the University of North Carolina University in the Chapel Hill’s Executive MBA Program.

The couple, who live in Apex, N.C., have planned a wedding for July in Wilmington N.C., and a traditional Moroccan ceremony for September in Casablanca.
