Union Twp. officials declare appointments
Monthly meetings will continue at 6 p.m. the third Thursday of the month.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Union Township Supervisor Clair Damon was reappointed township roadmaster and Supervisor Robert Eckert was reappointed secretary/treasurer when the township supervisors held their reorganizational meeting.
Township auditors have set Damon’s wage at $15 per hour, the same as last year. He will work 40 hours per week.
Eckert said he will not take any compensation for the secretary-treasurer job. He held the job last year and said he took compensation for only the first two months.
None of the three supervisors will take medical benefits although all are legally entitled to them.
Supervisors appointed Pat Angiolelli as supervisor chairman and Damon as vice chairman. They agreed the monthly meetings will continue to be at 6 p.m. the third Thursday of the month. The monthly workshops will be at 6 p.m. the first Thursday.
Eckert will be the liaison to the township sewer authority and the township planning commission. Damon will be liaison to Scotland Meadows Park and the township zoning appeals board. Angiolelli will be liaison to the township police department. Damon will be the delegate to the Lawrence County Council of Governments and Angiolelli the alternate.

ULinda Farris, assistant secretary/treasurer to work as needed for $10 per hour.
UAtty. Jason Medure, reappointed solicitor; Atty. Thomas Leslie, zoning solicitor at the same rate as 2008.
UTaylor Engineering, engineer; AR Engineering, back-up engineer.
UJames Farris, reappointed planning consultant/recycling coordinator at $5,600 annually, the same as last year.
ULinda Farris, reappointed zoning officer at $7,200, the same as last year.
UMaurice Waltz, sewage enforcement officer; Colleen Martin Brown, back-up officer.
UBetty Singer, reappointed wage tax collector.
UBryan Whiting, vacancy board chairman.
USteve Stasko, fire marshal.
UFrank Sylvester, transit board member.
UChuck Cumberledge and Ed Perrino, five-year terms on the Union Sewer & Disposal Authority.
URobert Mrozek, planning commission member, for four years.
