Say this fast 10 times: Frostbite Foodtaste Footrace. The appropriately named annual event in downtown Sharon, Pa., might be a little too accurate this year — especially the part about frostbite. Participants (last year there were more than 600) hit 10 establishments for some unique food and drink, then sprint on over to Tully’s at 10 p.m. Registration fee is $10, and it comes with a T-shirt and a hat. Just go to the ACT on Sharpsville Avenue between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Help Heat Homes program.

Three plays open this weekend at area theaters.

Stage Left Players’ production of the musical “Hello Dolly” continues this weekend at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon. Curtain times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

j DaBoonDox is back with another of its themed events. The New Millennium Movement Show is tonight at the Golf Dome on U.S. Route 422 in Girard. The goal, according to Troy Napier, left, of the hip-hop duo, is to motivate people to get the Mahoning Valley moving in the right direction. “We can all agree that 2009 will be the year of change, and hope for a better direction for America,” said Napier. “Our message is for people to be accountable for change. Take action, get involved in your communities, raise your voice, and get active in seeing this Valley get out of the wounded state it has been in.” Admission to the 18-and-over show are $5.

DaBoonDox, which also includes Jeff Killin, is putting the finishing touches on its next CD, “Da Perfect Storm, starring Black Thunda’ and White Lightning.”

BET Comedy Explosion comes to McMenamy’s, 325 Youngstown-Warren Road, in Niles at 8 p.m. Sherman Golden headlines the show, which also includes the Black Prince and local comedian Flossy B. Check Ticketmaster for information.

It’s the middle of winter, but W.D. Packard Concert Band is taking a Latin Holiday. That’s the title of its free concert at 3 p.m. in Packard Music Hall in Warren. Frank Cosenza, one of the newest members of the band, will be in the spotlight with his trumpet on “Come Back to Sorrento.” Susan D. Brucoli, a teacher at Howland High School, will present a Powerpoint presentation on “Movement for Rosa,” which commemorates civil rights legend Rosa Parks. The concert is free.
