Sell pours in 32 to propel United


The Eagles moved into a tie for first place with the 69-52 win over Springfield.

HANOVERTON — United’s Maggie Sell poured in 32 points, hitting four 3-pointers in the process, as the Eagles (11-1, 5-1) moved into a tie for first in the Inter-Tri-County League Tier One race with a 69-52 victory over Springfield in a girls basketball game on Monday.

Maggie Miller added 10 points for the Eagles, who outscored Springfield 23-11 in the second quarter to take control. United is tied with Lisbon and Crestview atop the league standings.

Rachael Kennedy had 15 points, Ashley Davis 13 and Andria Lyons 10 for the Tigers (4-7, 1-5).

South Range 67, Mineral Ridge 29

MINERAL RIDGE — Caitlin Carter scored 12 points and the Raiders (8-4, 3-3 ITCL1) had 11 players reach the scoring column.

Tara Yacovone had eight points for the Rams (2-8, 1-5).

Lowellville 52, Sebring 39

LOWELLVILLE — Jamie Hynes scored 14 points, while Ashley Moore and Emily Carlson each added 11 for Lowellville (7-3, 6-0 ITCL2), which outscored Sebring 15-3 in the second quarter to take control.

Jill Bragg scored 20 points to lead the Trojans (5-6, 2-4).

Crestview 35, East Palestine 27

COLUMBIANA — Chelsea Bowker scored 18 points as Crestview ralled in the second half for a Tier One victory.

The Rebels (10-2, 5-1) trailed 15-9 at intermission, but outscored East Palestine (2-8, 0-6) 26-12 in the second half.

Bre Hull led East Palestine with nine points.

Wellsville 61, Jackson-Milton 40

NORTH JACKSON — Mikayla Tipton scored 27 points with 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals as Wellsville (4-6, 3-3) took a 40-18 lead at halftime.

Alyssa Chine led the Bluejays (0-11, 0-6) with 17 points. Maddie Griffiths scored 10 points with 14 rebounds and three steals.

Leetonia 46, Southern 37

LEETONIA — Gina Jones scored 14 points and Clarissa Perkins added 11 rebounds as Leetonia (5-6, 3-3) rolled past Southern.

Emily Smith had 13 points and Maddy Dowling 12 to lead Southern (1-10, 1-5).
