Bethany cruises past Franciscan, 93-56
BETHANY, W.Va. — All 12 players who saw time scored and five reached double figures, for the Bethany men’s basketball team to a 93-56 win over Franciscan in non-conference action.
The Bison (9-6) fired in a trio of 3-pointers during a 14-3 spurt to start the game. A lay-up by Curtis Allen brought the Barons (3-7) back within single digits at 16-7, but BC tore off 14 consecutive points to balloon their margin to 30-7 and Franciscan’s deficit was never less than 10 the rest of the night.
Spearheading the balanced offense was sophomore Dakota Matz, Joe Testa and Lance Beckwith all with 12. Testa also pulled down 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, while Matz handed out nine assists to match his career-high and Beckwith dished off five helpers.
Josh Ducoulombier led Franciscan’s efforts with 19 points and eight rebounds and Robert Slattery chipped in with 11 points.
