Beaver school levy on special election ballot Feb. 3
LISBON — Supporters of a Beaver School District renewal tax levy on the Feb. 3 ballot are looking for some help.
The levy was originally approved by voters in 1994 but growth in the community has resulted in the renewal being set at just 5.3 mills. That’s the amount of taxes now needed to generate the same level of revenue — $1.2 million — received in 1994.
Voters refused to renew the operating levy in November, rejecting it by a vote of 3,398 to 3,100. It will be back on the ballot next month.
