SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 8273 High St. N.E., Warren, has scheduled the following: Monday, pinochle club at 9 a.m., art class and bridge club at 10, yoga at 12:30 p.m., bird ecology at 1, tap class at 2:30 and C&CC Railroad at 4; Tuesday, cards at 10 a.m. and bingo at 12:30 p.m.; Wednesday, cards at 10 a.m.; Thursday, computer class at 9:30 a.m., needle arts at 10, digital camera at 11:30, line dancing at 3 p.m. and cards at 6; and Friday, line dancing at 11:30 a.m. A free nutritional and diabetic workshop will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and will include free meter upgrade, blood glucose and blood pressure screenings, proper foot care and lunch, compliments of Accurate Medical Supply. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Cancer Support Group at 10 a.m., OSU Nutrition Classes at 11 and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, cornhole practice at 1:15 p.m. and digital club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and Woodcarvers at 10 a.m., exercise at noon, line dancing at 1 p.m. and beginner line dancing at 2; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. Special events include a bingo dessert buffet on Tuesday, a stroke prevention program on Wednesday and a Boardman Fun Day at 10 a.m. Thursday. • Trumbull County Travelers is having a slide show at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 at Panera Bread on Elm Road in Warren. David Wendt will present highlights of a six-day travel adventure to Fiesta San Antonio, its famous river walk, and such sites as the Alamo, Mission San Jose, the botanical gardens, the state capitol, a dude ranch, Fredericksburg and the King William District. The public is invited to join the group on the April 22-27 trip, which will be escorted by Peggy Boyd. The cost for the trip is $1,599 based on double occupancy, and includes transportation to and from airports, air fare, five nights’ lodging, eight meals, admissions and tips. A $250 deposit will be accepted at the slide show.
