MERCER COUNTY | Court action
These people were sentenced recently in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. According to court documents:
Matthew Hunter, 37, of South Hermitage Road, Hermitage, sentenced to 18 months in jail for corruption of minors, a misdemeanor. Between July and October 2001, he rubbed the genitals of an 8-year-old girl in Hermitage.
Donald Ash, 40, of North Vandergrift, Pa., sentenced to nine months to two years in jail on a resentence for retail theft. He was given 106 days’ credit for time already served. Ash was convicted of retail theft and sentenced in 2004 to six to 12 months in jail followed by five years’ probation. He violated his probation terms by pleading guilty to new criminal charges in Westmoreland County while he was on probation.
Adam Oakes, 25, of North Foster Road, Jackson Center, sentenced to nine to 23 months in jail for theft by unlawful taking or disposition, a misdemeanor. On March 24, 2008, he took a digital camera and iPod with accessories and car speakers from a Sandy Lake address.
Isaiah Abram, 19, of Spearman Avenue, Farrell, sentenced to three to 18 months in jail followed by six months’ probation for firearms not to be carried without a license, a misdemeanor. On Nov. 14, 2007, he possessed a .22-caliber revolver in the parking lot of McDonald’s, 2066 E. State St., Hermitage.
Joshua Long, 26, of Mill Street, Fredonia, sentenced to four weeks to three months in jail for false identification to law enforcement officials and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. On Sept. 2, 2007, he identified himself by a false name to Sharon Police officers. He also pulled away from officers when they tried to arrest him, resulting in their using a Taser to subdue him.
Joshua Kristyak, 27, of Hadley Road, Hadley, sentenced to 22 days to 23 months in jail followed by one year’s probation for recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Dec. 18, 2007, he fled Pennsylvania State Police officers, driving his vehicle in excess of 100 mph on Pa. Routes 79 and 80, Jackson Township, placing his passenger in danger. He also possessed drug paraphernalia.
Courtney Demarco, 27, West Middlesex, placed on two years’ probation for theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, a misdemeanor. From Dec. 13, 2006, to April 7, 2007, while an employee of National City Bank, 2470 E. State St., Hermitage, she failed to deposit $449 in bank receipts.
Jordan Gaudette, 21, of St. Cloud, Fla., placed on two years’ probation for possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a felony. He was apprehended April 2, 2008, at a Clinton Street, Greenville residence with marijuana.
Travis King, 20, of Leise Road, Greenville, placed on three years’ probation for misdemeanor forgery. On May 29, 2007, he took a check from a Hadley Road, Clarks Mills, residence.
Fred Lary, 43, of Maple Terrace Drive, Grove City, sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison followed by three years’ probation for felony burglary. On Dec. 15, 2007, he illegally entered T.R. Shearer’s, Sandy Lake Road, French Creek Township, with the intent to commit a crime. Lary had been terminated from employment there and surprised an employee who was sleeping in the building.
Danyel Mathieson, 25, of Airport Road, Slippery Rock, placed on five years’ probation for theft by failure to make required disposition, a misdemeanor. Mathieson was a manager of rental properties in Grove City and collected $17,056 in rent money but failed to deposit it into the owner’s bank account.
Quinn Thomas, 19, of Georgetown Street, Sharpsville, placed on two years’ probation for felony criminal trespass. On May 19, he entered a Wakefield Drive, Sharpsville, residence with the intent to commit a crime.
Jeremy Beichner, 26, of Tionesta, was sentenced to six to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail followed by five years’ probation for two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver – oxycodone and cocaine. He was found in possession of the drugs when stopped for a traffic violation Nov. 30, 2006, on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.
Brandon Bame, 23, of South Jefferson Street, New Castle, was sentenced to nine to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, OxyContin. He was apprehended Jan. 25, 2008, at Joe’s Garage, 1808 Perry Highway, Springfield Township, with 11 OxyContin pills.
Kevin Hammer, 30, of Beaver Falls, was sentenced to four months to one year in jail on a resentence for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. He was on probation for the offense, but violated the probation terms by committing a new criminal offense.
Richard Kridler, 23, of Hayes Lane, Bessemer, was resentenced to three to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for indecent assault and corruption of minors, both misdemeanors. He was on probation for the 2006 offenses but violated probation terms by absconding supervision.
Brian Reash, 28, of North Broad Street, Grove City, was sentenced to 64 days to 23 months in the Mercer County jail followed by five years’ probation for felony theft by unlawful taking and criminal attempt to theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor. He took aluminum wall and step construction forms valued at $2,000 from a Pine Township Residence between Between May and August, 2007. Then on Dec. 7, 2007, he took tire rims valued at $1,000 from a Sandy Lake Township residence.
