With the holiday rush behind you and long winter days ahead, Country Living magazine has some ideas for filling your time.

“Country Living Easy Makeovers” offers 101 ideas for home-design projects that can be tackled in a weekend.

You’ll find suggestions for shopping for flea-market finds, brightening areas with paint and creating window treatments, rugs and other accents, among other ideas.

The compact book is published by Sterling Publishing Co. and sells for $12.95 in paperback.

Insulating foam saves energy, heat loss

Sealing gaps in your home’s exterior is inherently environmentally friendly, but Soy Seal makes it even greener.

Soy Seal is a soy-based spray insulating foam that seals cracks and gaps, reducing heat loss and saving energy. Most insulating foams are petroleum-based.
