Minister Carter named organizer of ACTION

YOUNGSTOWN — ACTION has hired minister Rosetta Carter, known as “Rose” as its organizer.

The Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods received a $25,000 grant from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development to hire an organizer and continue its Crime and Safety Campaign.

Minister Carter has been involved in the community, especially in the area of loans for low- to moderate-income families through financial institutions and Housing and Urban Development, housing with Homeless Group of Trumbull County, SAVE Our Home and Habitat for Humanity.

She also has served as a board member of Common Wealth Inc. Minister Carter has worked with the Community Development Agency, Youngstown Municipal Housing Authority, Burdman Center, Beatitude House, Potter’s Wheel and Nehemiah Project. She has an extensive background in specific problems faced by low- to moderate-income families.

She is an ordained minister at Triedstone Baptist Church.

For the past nine years, ACTION has been committed to raising awareness and seeking solutions to overcome poverty, racism and social injustice. The faith-based organization is working on issues brought forth by residents concerning corruption, abandoned houses and toxic paint, predatory lending, crime and safety.
