Booth hired as elections deputy director

LISBON — Adam Booth, vice chairman of the Columbiana County Republican Party, is the new deputy director of the county board of elections.
The board hired Booth on Friday morning at $15 per hour during his probationary period.
No time limit was set on his probationary period, said Kim Meek, the Democrat elections director.
Elections officials said he will undergo mandatory training.
Booth, 29, of New Waterford, has a master’s degree in applied politics from the University of Akron and a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration on religious studies from Youngstown State University.
He has served on the Columbiana County Educational Service Center board since January 2008.
In his first race, he ran unsuccessfully last fall race against Democrat Craig Brown, the incumbent county recorder.
